Terms of Use
Emberwatch is a single free browser game with no accounts and nothing for sale. These terms cover the small number of things that still need saying.
1. Who we are and how to reach us
This site is operated by the publisher named on the contact page, which carries our email address and postal address. Any question about these terms goes to that email address. It is a monitored mailbox, not a placeholder.
2. Who the game is for
Emberwatch is a general-audience arcade game intended for players aged 13 and over. It is not designed for or directed at children under 13, and we do not market it in child-directed placements. If you are under 13, please do not use the site. Parents who believe a younger child has been using it can simply clear the site’s data; nothing is stored anywhere else. Nothing on this site claims suitability for every age group.
The game contains stylised fire and a carved mask. There is no realistic violence, no depiction of people and no user-generated content.
3. This is not a gambling service
Emberwatch is a game of skill. There is no wager, no stake, no random payout, no virtual currency, no loot box, no prize and no cash-out. Score is produced by where you place the ward and is stored only in your own browser. Nothing on this site can be exchanged for money or anything of value, and no part of it is a real-money or social casino product.
4. What it costs
Nothing. There is no account, no registration, no subscription, no in-game purchase and no paid tier. We will never ask you for payment details, and any page claiming to sell you something in the name of Emberwatch is not ours.
5. Acceptable use
- Play it, share the link, and write about it freely.
- Do not republish the game files as your own product or strip the attribution from them.
- Do not attempt to disrupt the site or the server it runs on.
- Do not present a modified copy in a way that suggests it is the original.
Recording gameplay for videos or streams is fine, including monetised ones, with no permission needed.
6. Ownership
The game code, artwork, name and page text are ours and are protected by copyright. Playing the game grants you a personal, non-exclusive licence to run it in your browser; it does not transfer any rights in the material itself.
7. Availability and warranty
The site is provided as it is. We do not promise that it will be available without interruption, that it will work identically in every browser, or that a stored best score will survive a browser update or a change in your privacy settings. To the extent the law allows, we exclude implied warranties and are not liable for indirect or consequential loss. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, and nothing here affects your statutory consumer rights.
8. Your data
What the game stores in your browser, and every request the page makes, is set out in the privacy policy. That page also states, in plain terms, what happens to it if advertising or measurement tags are ever added to this site.
9. Links out
Where this site links to another site, you leave ours and continue under their terms and their privacy policy, not ours.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of the jurisdiction given on the contact page, and disputes belong to the courts there. If you are a consumer, this does not remove protections you have under the law of the country you live in.
11. Changes
An updated version appears here with a new version number and date. Continuing to use the site after that means you accept the new version.
