Privacy Policy
Emberwatch is a static browser game. It has no accounts and no server-side profile of you. This page describes exactly what the game writes to your own browser, every network request the page makes, and what changes here the day any advertising or measurement tag is added.
1. Who is responsible
Emberwatch is operated by the publisher named on the contact page, which also carries the postal address and the email address for any privacy request. That page is the working channel for everything described below — there is no form, no ticket system and no second address.
2. What the game stores on your device
The game uses browser local storage, not cookies. Two values are written, both of them created by the game itself and readable only by this site:
| Key | What it holds | Why | Lifetime |
|---|---|---|---|
emberwatch.best | A single number: your highest score. | So the “Best” field survives a reload. | Until you clear site data. |
emberwatch.sound | 0 or 1. | Remembers whether you turned sound on. | Until you clear site data. |
Neither value identifies you, neither is sent anywhere, and both stay on the device you played on. Clearing your browser’s site data for this domain removes them. The game runs normally if local storage is blocked; the score simply resets each visit.
No cookies are set by this site. No fingerprinting is performed. There is no login, no profile and no score leaderboard, so there is nothing on our side to attach to a person.
3. Every network request this page makes
All files are served from this site’s own domain. There are no third-party fonts, no CDN, no embedded video, no social widgets, no chat widget and no analytics library. The complete list:
- The HTML page you are reading.
assets/css/styles.css— styling.assets/js/game.js— the game itself; it makes no network calls of any kind.assets/img/favicon.svg— the tab icon.
Sound effects are generated in the browser with the Web Audio API. No audio files are downloaded and no microphone is used.
4. Advertising and measurement
As published today, this site carries no advertising network, no conversion tag, no remarketing pixel and no analytics. The file list in section 3 is the whole story, and it can be verified in any browser’s network panel.
If that changes — for example if the game is promoted through a paid channel such as Google Ads and a conversion or remarketing tag is added — this section is rewritten on the same day the tag goes live, before or at the moment of launch, never after. It will then name the provider, the exact tag, the cookies or identifiers it sets, their lifetimes, the purpose, the legal basis, and the opt-out. The version number and date at the top of this page change with it.
We do not run the site in one configuration for visitors arriving from an advertisement and another for everyone else. There is no conditional logic anywhere in the code on the referrer, on UTM parameters, or on any other marker of where a visitor came from. Every visitor gets the same page, the same scripts and the same policy.
Independent of this site, the platform you clicked an advertisement on may record that click under its own privacy policy. That happens on the advertising platform, before you arrive here, and is outside our control.
5. Server logs
Whoever hosts these files keeps ordinary web-server access logs — typically IP address, timestamp, requested file, referrer and user agent. That is a normal part of serving a page and is needed to keep the site available and to deal with abuse. We do not use those logs to build profiles, do not combine them with anything else, and do not sell or share them. Retention follows the host’s own policy; the host is named on the contact page.
6. Children
Emberwatch is a general-audience arcade game intended for players aged 13 and over. It is not designed for, marketed to, or directed at children under 13, and it is not promoted in child-directed placements. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children. If a tag is ever added under section 4, it will not be used to build advertising audiences of users under 13.
7. Email you send us
If you write to the address on the contact page, we hold your message and your address in an ordinary mailbox. We use it to answer you and nothing else: no mailing list, no resale, no sharing. Correspondence is kept while it is useful for that conversation and then deleted.
8. Your rights
Because we hold nothing about you beyond email you chose to send, most requests are simple to satisfy. You can ask what we hold, ask for a copy, ask for a correction, ask for deletion, or object to a use. Write to the address on the contact page and we will answer within 30 days. Depending on where you live you may also have the right to complain to your national data-protection authority.
You can remove everything the game stored at any time yourself by clearing site data for this domain in your browser settings.
9. Changes to this policy
Any change appears here with a new version number and date at the top. A change that adds tracking, advertising or measurement of any kind is published before that change is live, not after — see section 4.
